With the H. pylori (Tartar) Rapid Screening Test, you can get quick, reliable results in just 3 minutes, all from the comfort of your own home. No need to book a doctor’s appointment, the test detects urease activity associated with H. pylori. The test is affordable, accessible nationwide and gives you answers in 3 minutes.

Am I at risk of H. pylori?

H. pylori is a bacterium that enters the digestive tract through the mouth and commonly lives in the stomach lining. It is one of the main causes of:

  • Chronic gastritis
  • Peptic (stomach) ulcers

Many people with H. pylori don’t realise they’re infected, as symptoms can be mild or develop slowly over time.

If left untreated, H. pylori infection can sometimes lead to more serious digestive complications.

Common Symptoms of H. pylori include:

  • Ongoing stomach or abdominal pain
  • Bloating or feeling overly full
  • Nausea
  • Frequent burping
  • Indigestion or reflux
  • Loss of appetite

Not everyone experiences symptoms, which is why testing can be useful when digestive issues persist.

Is H. pylori Contagious?

Yes, H. pylori is contagious and can spread from person to person.

It is thought to spread through:

  • Saliva and oral contact
  • Poor hand hygiene
  • Contaminated food or water

Transmission commonly occurs:

  • Within households
  • During childhood
  • In shared or crowded living environments

Because symptoms can be mild or absent, many people don’t realise they have H. pylori.
